Alison Sainsbury of Looking GoodAlison Sainsbury created LOOKING GOOD back in 1998 with a passion for all of us to look and feel our best for every occasion as "Beauty comes
from within" - as they say. At the core of LOOKING GOOD is Alison's expertise to offer personalised and dedicated colour and style image consultancy. Since 1998, LOOKING GOOD clients include individual ladies and gentlemen, small groups, corporate clients, charity groups and adult education classes for local education authorities and the Gerrards Cross Summer School, business networking groups, trade fairs and themed evenings.

Alison's individual and small group clients see her regularly to help with their colours and style, wardrobe planning, skin care and cosmetics so they feel comfortable with their overall look. In addition, Alison gives presentations and within the Thames Valley has provided themed evenings and presentations at the Holiday Inn at Maidenhead and L'Ortolan in Reading.

In addition, Alison has been invited as a consultant on BBC Berkshire for a number of topical programmes including their:

Hollywood Makeover competition winner, to transform the winner into a new woman with a new great look. AsAlison worked with the competition winner, key topics covered during the show included:

  • Importance of appearance
  • Mini facial for optimum skin for make up application
  • Mini colour analysis to find best colours
  • Nutrimetics harmonized make up to finish the look
  • Hairdressing for the best cut and
  • Personal shopping in The Oracle at Reading (competition winner received £150 from BBC Berkshire) to select correct clothes and save on the pocket!

and The Big Challenge: Fat Nation
Alison was invited by BBC Berkshire to discuss this topic that is a key item within the media and society in general. Topics included: knowing which dark colours to wear and not necessarily black, correct colours and styles to help make the best of assets and help disguise flaws using accessories (scarves, jewellery, ties etc) to help slenderize the body and bring right colours to the face, the importance of good exercise and healthy diet, good skincare; harmonized make-up and total look good, feel good factor leading to more confidence and positive attitude to attract like minded people!

and Valentine's Day Competition
Alison worked with the winner of this BBC Berkshire competition, along with other specialist consultants, for a colour analysis and make-over. Alison advised the winner on clothes and colours to wear and make-up to help the winner with that total look for the Valentine's evening out with her husband. 4 weeks later, Alison returned to BBC Berkshire with the winner to review the benefits the winner had achieved and helped her with future selection and purchasing of clothes, and how she felt with her new look! Alison was also invited to give her 5 Hot Tips of 'how to look 10 years younger without going under the knife'.

Alison has also been interviewed by BBC Berkshire for her views on whether older people can wear jeans, an interview conducted by Henry Kelly.
